Heading the executive management team are Bruce Kagan, Chief Executive Officer, Kevin Dalton, President*; Michael Binette, Managing Director, Research; and Matthew Skipp, Managing Director, Institutional Equity Trading.

Bruce Kagan, Chief Executive Officer, Blackmont Capital Inc.

Bruce has over 15 years of experience in the investment industry. Prior to joining Blackmont Capital Inc., Bruce was head of the wealth management division at Dundee Securities. He has also worked at CIBC Wood Gundy, where he assumed responsibility for corporate-wide training and development, high net worth operations across the country, and managing the Toronto region. He began his career as an Investment Advisor at Midland Walwyn/Merrill Lynch, where he earned recognition as a Chairman’s Club member and was later promoted to Branch Manager, with responsibility for one of its Toronto branches. Bruce Kagan holds a Bachelor of Commerce (Honours) from Queen’s University and carries the CFA designation.

Kevin Dalton, President*, Blackmont Capital Inc.

Kevin is head of Blackmont’s Capital Markets division and works closely with Bruce Kagan to steer the firm. Prior to his appointment as President of Blackmont, Kevin was Managing Director, Investment Banking - Head of Investment Banking. Kevin's investment banking career started in 1990 and spanned a variety of sectors. Prior to joining Blackmont, he was Head of Diversified Industries within the Investment Banking department of CIBC World Markets. Before that, he was Head of the Media, Technology and Telecom Group at CIBC World Markets. Kevin has also held the position of Head of Equity Syndication, and is widely viewed as one of the most experienced capital markets professionals in the country.

Michael Binette, Managing Director, Research

Mike Binette is an Investment Research professional with over 23 years of experience. As a senior oil and gas analyst at Burns Fry and at TD Securities, he consistently achieved a top five ranking in Brendan Wood International annual institutional investor surveys. In 1994, Mike joined TD Securities where, as a Managing Director in research, he was instrumental in growing the research platform from three to 35 analysts over a 3-year period. Mike, a professional engineer, joined Blackmont in 2002. He has a Bachelor of Applied Sciences (Chemical Engineering) and a Bachelor in Science (Biochemistry) from the University of Ottawa and an MBA from the University of Western Ontario.

Matthew Skipp, Managing Director, Institutional Equity Trading

Matt joined the institutional equities trading desk at Blackmont in February 2004. Matt has a broad range of experience as a senior equities trader with well over 15 years of experience in the institutional equities market. Matt was most recently Director, RBC Capital Markets and is well versed in all aspects of equities, including liability and sales trading.
